Hines Ward soon to be an ex-steeler ?
With Hines Wards having a roster bonus soon approaching on March 1st the Pittsburgh Steelers are highly unlikely to keep the veteran receiver on the team. Ward is scheduled to make 4 million dollars in the last two years of his contract and with him no longer having a starting role on the team it'd make little sense to keep him, even though he contributed so much to the franchise over the years. If Ward leaves the team they would be letting go of a player with 1000 career receptions in which only 8 other people have accomplished this. So there are pros and cons of keeping him but only time will tell if the Steelers will be Ward-less.

Although I am not a Steeler's fan, I do not think trading Ward would be beneficial to the franchise. What is their reasoning for trading him?
ReplyDeleteHines Ward is set to have roster bonus from being on the team on March 1st. If he still is on the team, the Steelers have to give him $4 million dollars. Since Ward isn't one of their starting receivers that wouldn't loose to much from cutting him. Ward has recently came out saying he will restructure his contract but he does want to retire a Steeler so only time will tell if he is a Steeler on March 1st or not.
ReplyDeletehope he goes to the bears, we could use a seasoned veteran.
