Murray State suffers first lose
In NCAA D1 basketball there was only one undefeated team left, Murray State. Murray State Racers came into the match up against Tennessee State Tigers having a flawless record of 22-0 and 11-0 in conference record, that is until they faced Tennessee State. The #7 ranked team in the nation was leading the whole first half out scoring the Tigers 40-33. Going into half time they had all the confidence they needed to go 23-0 but that wasn't the case when they came out. The Tigers came to win and knock off Murray State and did that by out scoring them 39-28 in the second half. This made the ending score 72-68, a two possession game. Those two possessions are going to cost Murray state a top 10 ranking in the polls and potentially a ranking at all. An unfortunate end to their winning streak but not to their season. The Racers will have a great shot in getting a spot in the NCAA tournament at the end of the year and then they can make another winning steak again and potentially going on to win the national championship.
