Daytona 500: A Crazy Race

After the race being pushed back to Monday at 1pm the race was again pushed back due to rain. The rain covered the track until it was finally cleaned and dried off and the race began around 7pm. When the race began the drivers didn't wait to get the bumping and drafting till later in fact a wreak on lap 2 caused Danica Patrick and Jimmie Johnson to receive serious damage. The Race went on normally after that with wreaks, lead changes, pit stops until an unexpected thing happened. On a caution lap Juan Montoya had car troubles and couldn't control his car from smashing into a safety truck with a jet dryer on the back carrying 200 gallons of kerosene. The jet dryer exploded right away causing a burst of flames. Everyone was okay but it caused the race to be red flagged for almost 2 and a half hours. Finally when the race finished Matt Kenseth won, Dale Earnhardt Jr finished 2nd, Greg Biffle got 3rd, Denny Hamlin placed 4th, and Jeff Burton placed in the 5th position. The race was a crazy one and the first Daytona 500 to be rain delayed in the history of the race so maybe that was a sign for the events to come. All I know is that the next race is going to a good one.
